    A little history…

    The alphabet, that is to say the system of codification of writing, was invented in the 13th century BC by a people of great navigators: the Phoenicians. At the time, it had 22 letters. The Greeks adopted it around 800 BC and enriched it with vowels. Moreover, alphabet is a derivative of the first two Greek letters: A (alpha) and B (beta). It is the basis of other alphabets, such as the Cyrillic alphabet (used by the Russians and Bulgarians) or the Latin alphabet.
